Since 2009 and 2010, Dominique Laurent and his son Jean have rented three Village vineyards in Nuits-Saint-Georges, which Henri Jayer (1922-2006) cultivated and managed during his lifetime and which are still owned by the Jayer family.

After several years of restoration and maintenance, in 2013, father and son harvested for the first time the so-called Jayer gold vineyards, together with one of their own plots of century-old vines. The harvest from the four vineyards forms the basis of this very special wine: Les Quatre Vignes.

2016 Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Quatre Vignes from Domaine Laurent Père & Fils is yet another great proof that there is something very special in the bottles.

Dark red, almost oily wine waves from the bottle into the glass. Aromas of ripe blackberries and blackcurrants creep up towards the rim of the glass and meet the nose with subsequent hints of tobacco, leather, forest floor and floral notes of violet and iris.

The taste is velvety and full-bodied. You sense a great wine that is incredibly easy to drink. Not overly complicated – but not uncomplicated either. Tertiary aromas of mushrooms, leather and tobacco dominate the long, dark and juicy aftertaste.
